Riddle 004: Stumped?

...Harley. Are you at home right now? I... I need to talk to someone.

[Ed's not sounding so good.]

I think we still got them all somewhere. I'd ask America about it, or Canada. They probably knows where they are if they don't have them.

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-01 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I see. I'll keep that in mind. Is there anything else you can think of?

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-01 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Um....
[Thinking]

I don't...Oh!

There was the time that the Mayor was replaced with the Milkman and we had to go and vote him back in because the Milkman was even worse!

And another time Grady mentioned how they were all stuck here as much as we were!

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
A replacement Mayor? [thinking aloud] So it seems that there's a bit of mutiny within Mayfield's political ranks. Unless the replacement wasn't necessarily the Milkman's choice. If Officer Grady's stated that they're stuck here just as much as us, then could that mean that they are also puppets? But if so, then who's at the top? Who---

[he groans, putting a hand to his forehead. He then smirks cynically.]

See what I mean?

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
Yup.

Like I said, the town wants you to go nuts. If you spend every moment tryn' ta figure it out you'll just drive yourself crazy like they want.

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
That's just it, though! If I don't solve the puzzle, who will? I don't think even Bats would be able to figure this place out.

[Riddle obsession relapse? No, of course not.]

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah....

Oh that reminds me. You're in comic books here!

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah! They have comic books about Batman here.

...they're really wierd though and no one really looks right. But you're in some, and so is Mr. J and Ivy!

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
I doubt a silly comic book would be able to accurately capture my level of genius, anyway. What are the comics about? Batman beating us to a pulp, spouting off some witty one-liners?

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I'm not in any of them.

[Sulky]

But they're kinda like that. Like him tryin' ta solve your riddles and stuff. Robin's really wierd in them and the slangs really old.

....oh and according to them, Batman's, Bruce Wayne.

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
Bruce Wayne? I---That was it! I'd had a feeling there was something off about him! It all makes sense!

...assuming these comics have any sense of legitimacy to them, anyway.

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
Well according to some other guy I know. There are movies about Batman and they say he's Bruce Wayne. Plus, all of us...well you guys are in the comics with your right names.

...still kinda hard to believe. Oh and apparently Superman's some newspaper guy named Clark Kent.

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
A newspaper guy? Could it really be that simple? It seems there was more than meets the eye for Gotham's favorite billionaire playboy. (he chuckles a bit, reveling) Oh, am I going to have some fun when I get back to Gotham! Ol' Bats'll hardly expect this!

...strange that you weren't in there, though. For as long as I can remember, you've been tagging along with the Joker.

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
I know! They even have Hat guy in a few of them! But I mean they're really weird, you should see how they draw you guys. And Batman.....

yeah. Batman and Robin are kinda weird in them. I didn't know they liked puns so much.

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 12:31 am (UTC)(link)
Puns?

[He laughs heartily]

Oh, that's just too rich!

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
It's nuts. And that's from me.

For some reason they don't have Batgirl in them either.

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
You don't happen to have any of these comics, do you? You've definitely piqued my curiosity.

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
I went and got some a little while ago. Apparently they sell a bunch of comics in a store here.

They're at home. Want to read some?

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
Why not? It could be amusing. Certainly more healthy than me tearing my hair out over this mystery for a change.

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 01:15 am (UTC)(link)
Plus you can make fun of Batman! I haven't gotten to do that in ages!

And these comics make it so easy!

....Batman smiles in some of them. A lot!

[Oh fifties Batman comics]

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Ha! I could probably count the number of times I've ever seen him smile on one hand!

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
[He chuckles, then his smile fades a bit.]

...thanks, Harley.

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
....you're welcome?

[Is, of course, confused as to why she is being thanked]
