Riddle 004: Stumped?

...Harley. Are you at home right now? I... I need to talk to someone.

[Ed's not sounding so good.]

[In the house]

A-ha! Here they are!

[And she has some of these (http://www.coverbrowser.com/covers/batman/3#i118). One might have a familiar (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/9/9d/Detective140.JPG) face.]

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
[Eddie laughs uproariously at the Batman comics, but his laughter stops short when he sees himself.]

Oh, no. You've got to be kidding!

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
[Glances over and then tries not to laugh.]

Oh come on Eddie. ...it's not that bad.

[She's trying very hard not to laugh here...]

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
[He shoots her an annoyed look.]

I can't even remember the last time I wore a stupid outfit like that! And that face! It just---

[No words can describe it.]

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
[A few giggles might have gotten through]

They draw everyone like that.

I mean look at Harvey, they made him green! And they put Selina in a dress an-...wait. How does she even run in that thing anyway?

[And is looking back to the comic she has in her hands. No really, a dress Selina?]

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
[And now Eddie's groaning over how embarrassing 50s Riddler is, checking the story with the puzzle-machine on the cover]

It does seem a bit dated, I'll give you that. I mean, look at this deathtrap. Do you honestly think a machine like that would pose a threat to Batman?

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
[Looking through a different one.]

Really though. I mean, who say's "Golly" anyway.

And what's with the giant coin anyway? Did Two-Face ever actually try that?

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
Y'know, I wouldn't put it past him. Though I doubt he'd try such a harebrained scheme now.

[He flips through his story a bit more.]

"Riddle me this, Batman! What is six ounces, sits in a tree, and is very dangerous?"

[He turns the page]

"...a sparrow with a machine gun?!"

[He wrinkles his brow.]

Words can't even describe this comic's sheer stupidity...

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
....what?

[Moving over to look at that.]

What?

[Yeah, no words really]

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
I'm more amazed at the fact that Robin was so quick to come to that answer.

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
....And they think we're the insane ones.

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
[He's given up on this issue, setting it down and picking up Worlds' Finest Comics #3, featuring the first appearance of the Scarecrow.]

Oh, goodie. A story about Jonathan. I wonder what it'll be about?

[He flips it open.]

Fear. Never would have guessed.

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
[And is looking over your shoulder again]

Is he in spandex too?

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
No, no, straw. Very Worzel Gummidge.

Hardly frightening enough to be considered a Scarecrow.

[Is he scary? You be the judge (http://www.comics101.com/comics101//news/Comics%20101/67/scarecrow.jpg)]

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
.....why is he red?

And where are his hands?

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
This art's about as laughable as these so-called "riddles" I had.

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
Really.

...I'm kinda glad I'm not in any of these now.

Still....

[She cracks up and points to a picture of Batman smiling]

Can you imagene if we showed these back home?

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Ha! Wouldn't that be something? Just to see the look on Batman's face! ...I don't think even he remembers the last time he smiled.

[Scanning the pages.]

...or the last time he called anyone "Old Chum," for that matter.

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
It's been ages, that's for sure.

[Laughs at that]

Old chum? Really?

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
Take a look.

[He hands her his comic and points to a bubble towards the bottom of the page. But something else (http://luchins.com/category/what-were-they-thinking/batman/page/4/) has already caught his eye.]

Oh my. What do we have here?

[He takes the comic in his hands and laughs hysterically.]

[identity profile] crazyclownwoman.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
.....a..baby?

[Bursts out laughing as well.]

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
S-seriously, how ridiculous c-could it---

[He can't even finish his question, he's laughing so hard.]
