Riddle 031: Cats Always Land On Their Feet

[A: ACTION. The Kitchen of 726 Anderson Lane.

Well, that was probably the worst way to come off of a droning ever. Those of you who are still awake, you'll probably hear the Riddler rummaging about in the refrigerator. He finally emerges from it with a small bag of frozen peas, which he'll be placing over that black eye of his.]

[B: ACTION. Edward's personal study at 726 Anderson Lane.

Looks like Edward's gotten a package while he was out of it. Peeking into the box, he can see a bit of leather... It's a familiar violet catsuit, complete with a long tail, a mask with whiskers and ears, and a 12-foot long whip. No. No, there's no way they would seriously send this to him. Is this Mayfield's idea of a joke?]

[C: PHONE. (Filtered from Drones)]

Here's a question for you, Mayfield.

"What flies without wings?"

Answer: Time. Strange how it doesn't seem to fly at all when you've been droned. One second, it's the middle of July, then before you even realize it, it's August. What all have I missed, hmm? Any theories on what they'll throw at us this month?

[D. Then, he'll filter the call yet again, to Harley, Ivy, and Crane.]

Question: Is it uncommon for someone to regain something that doesn't belong to them?

[E: ACTION. Legion of Doom Headquarters.

Well, he's not going to try on Selina's catsuit yet, but that doesn't mean he can't have a little fun anyway. Eddie's hand curls around the grip of Catwoman's braided, leather bullwhip. Having set up a few cans around the long conference table, he'll crack the whip at them several times to see how many he'll be able to knock down.]

[Luke's been taking notes? Just a chip off the ol' block.]

What have you been able to find?

[identity profile] tapshoetomove.livejournal.com 2011-08-05 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
I learned a little more about Westport and some of the people who were involved in that whole mess.

And uhm, I tried making a map...

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2011-08-06 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
Mind if I take a look? [On the off-chance that Luke found something he didn't, it'll be good for them to compare notes.]

[identity profile] tapshoetomove.livejournal.com 2011-08-06 04:52 am (UTC)(link)
Certainly! Uhm, just keep in mind they were all made by the previous me that was here.

[Which means the notes are pretty confusing, at least to Luke they are. The boy leaves for a moment to fetch something from his room, mainly the collection of notes (http://bluecapboy.livejournal.com/12754.html#cutid1) he found and copied during his previous stay.

On top of all those notes is a crudely drawn map of the town, it's not all the way finished.]

[The previous him? ...then Luke had been trapped here on more than one occasion? In any case, Edward files that information away when the boy returns with his notes. Peering first at the map, he then focuses his attention on each note in Luke's collection. He reads them in silence, brow knit in concentration. More pieces to this damn puzzle... One day, he'll solve it.]

[Luke knows just from hanging around the Professor that it's best to remain quiet in situations like these. After all, taking in all this information required a lot of concentration and studying.

He'll wait a while longer before speaking up.]

Well? Does it make any sense to you?

[identity profile] puzzlerprince.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
[Clucking his tongue and shaking his head.]

It appears as though there are more and more pieces to this little puzzle than I had thought. [He'll glance from the notes to Luke.] Do you mind if I make my own copies?

[identity profile] tapshoetomove.livejournal.com 2011-08-11 07:00 am (UTC)(link)
Not at all, make as many copies as you like! Maybe you'll have better luck with this puzzle then I am.

Much appreciated.
