Riddle me this. When you have it, you'll want to share it, but if you share it, you'll no longer have it.

It's a secret, ladies and gentlemen, and it seems as though the Mailman's incapable of keeping one. I know others have said it before, but come now. Surely we're all smart enough not to victimize one another. Many have their reasons for wanting to return home, but I'm sure others have their reasons for wanting to stay here as well. Strange as that may be.

...though that is rather curious. Why would one decide to stay in a place like Mayfield?

...at any rate, I've never worked for a game company of any kind.

I mean, once I got out of college, I worked with a traveling carnival for a time. But from there, I made my way into the criminal underworld as an informant.

I'm currently allied with two fellow investigators. One of them is a forensic scientist, and the other is on the Mayfield Police Force, with me. We're planning an investigation of the Smith household. We'll probably need some kind of distraction beforehand---maybe a rock through their window or some kind of vandalism---but once that's happened, my coworker and I will be arriving at their door, under the premise that we "got a call from a concerned neighbor" or some such malarkey.

My point is, they're both Death. But they're the Deaths of alternate universes.

Think about it. Why would we remember events so differently? And how is it that you believe I grew up one way, when I know I've grown up another way? We're not just from a different timeline, Harley. We could very well be from separate universes altogether.

While he and I are interviewing the Smiths, asking them just what happened earlier, our other associate is planning to sneak into the house while they're distracted. Her goal is to try and find some clues in Lucy's room. Something that could very well be the key to returning home.
